Illinois Route 51 Coalition

The Route 51 Coalition consists of citizens representing various government entities, business interests, labor organizations, and interested individuals along the 99-mile long section of U.S. Route 51 from I-72 (Decatur, Illinois) to I-64 (Centralia, Illinois).

Four industrial and three commercial facilities have been developed or expanded in Centralia, resulting in approximately ninety-five new jobs. A new gas station and convenience store has opened in Macon. The regional mall in the Decatur-Forsyth area has been expanded along with the development of five motels and six restaurants. In addition, new commercial facilities have been opened or expanded  and new residential units have been built.  The number of new jobs created in this area is estimated to be more than three hundred.
